Looks like we are going to learn how to raise chickens! We went to a fiesta and they were selling little chicks that were colored. (Not sure how they did the coloring?) Kaylee thought they were really cute so we bought two as a remembrance of our time there. Well, when we had to buy food for them to eat Russ decided to buy another chick for Janaya from the feed store. We know like nothing about chickens and did not know if they would be roosters or hens.
Well, Kaylee's 2 chicks became white roosters and Janaya's became a hen.
Now our Filipino neighbors are telling us we need to kill off one of the males. They say it is best to just have one. We are thinking of seeing if we can get the hen to lay eggs. If it works it seems Russ is interested in possibly having more:)He mentioned maybe having a goat someday too. Maybe he has a bit of the farmer gene in him from his family! We'll let you know if we ever get an egg!
