******************************************************After a week of helping the kids get out on relief efforts Russ and I were able to visit an area called Floodway. It seems appropriately named now that we have been there. We found out that the house of one of our security guards was still flooded and that in fact their whole area was still flooded. Since the kids were back in school Russ and I decided to go with him when he went home to see and to hand out food to his neighbors. They say they have received drops from helicopters of food and the Navy has brought in some clean drinking water for them on rafts. It was amazing to see all the people still living in the area! They have made floating devices out of everything you can imagine to get in and out for food and supplies. Lots do not leave because they are afraid what they do have would be taken by looters if they left and because the situations in the evacuation camps are not much better. Please pray for Pronlin and his family of three cute girls and a wife. That they and their neighbors will be spared disease and dengue or malaria in their very unhealthy living situations. Thanks to the kids at Westbrook who sent us back with toys. We put one in every food bag handed out and gave some to Pronlin's girls as well. God knew we would be able to use them at such a dark time for so many and we still have more to hand out. Click on any picture to see it bigger.
