Janaya got to play musical instruments in her first band program! She is the one in the green shirt between the drum and cymbals. She played bass drum, triangle, tambourine and crash cymbals. She was so nervous she would play the crash cymbal at the wrong time that one of the teachers stood next to all the percussion players to help them play at the right time. The main instrument she had been practicing all year was the xylophone but there were no xylophone parts so she had to be able to switch between all the percussion instruments for the program.
She also was in the praise and worship choir for her age group and sang. She is second row from the top, first person. She was a bit overwhelmed by it all but did well.
